The 11th session of the UNESCO/ISEDC Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme 2017 finished in Moscow
On October 18, after two-day theoretical and practical classes on Russian experience in energy management, fellows were invited to participate in the 5th Annual Forum “Open Innovations”. The Forum is a global discussion platform that is dedicated to emerging technologies and furthering innovation prospects and collaboration worldwide.
Top 250 firms emit third of CO2; few have strong goals to cut: study
The world’s 250 biggest listed companies account for a third of all man-made greenhouse gas emissions yet few have strong goals to limit rising temperatures, a study showed on Tuesday. Coal India, Gazprom and Exxon Mobil topped the list when measuring carbon dioxide emitted by companies and by consumers using their products, it said.

During the second week of the UNESCO/ISEDC Сo-Sponsored Fellowships Programme fellows studied the course related to municipal and industrial energy management. ISEDC partners became the lecturers of the course in the framework of the Programme, namely leading experts of UNDP-GEF Project “Building energy efficiency in the North-West of Russia”, Mr. Vitaly Bekker and Mr. Andrey Dodonov.
Audrey Azoulay nominated by UNESCO Executive Board for the post of Director-General
The 58 members of UNESCO’s Executive Board on 13 October nominated Audrey Azoulay of France for the position of Director-General of the Organization, replacing outgoing Director-General Irina Bokova. The nomination will be submitted to the vote of the General Conference that brings together all 195 Member States of the Organization every two years on 10 November.
