konkursThe Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, jointly with the UNDP-GEF Project "Building energy efficiency in the North-West of Russia,” organizes the 2nd international competition for the best project in the field of energy conservation and energy efficiency among students and postgraduates of higher education institutions in the Russian Federation (RF), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and the countries of the European Union (EU).

The goals of the competition:
- identify and support innovative, creative, technological, and technical developments of students and postgraduates of higher education institutions in the Russian Federation, the CIS, and the EU in the field of energy efficiency and energy conservation;
- promote ideas of energy conservation among students and postgraduates of higher education institutions in the Russian Federation, the CIS, and the EU.
There are two nominations in the competition:
The best engineering solution for improving energy efficiency and energy savings in buildings, structures, and construction projects (automated information system for management of energy savings, air conditioning and ventilation, heating system, hot water supply, electricity and systems, renewable energy sources, lighting systems, building envelopes);
The best organizational and informational activities for energy conservation and energy efficiency (education in the field of energy savings and energy efficiency, energy management, international cooperation in the field of energy efficiency, promotion of energy savings and energy efficiency).
Post-graduates and students of higher education institutions in the RF, the CIS, and the EU can participate in the competition.  Participants may enter the competition individually or as a member of the project team.  The size of a project group must not exceed 3 people.
Participants may not be more than 33 years old on the date they apply.  This requirement applies to both individual participants and representatives of project groups.

The summary of results for the 2nd international competition and the award ceremony will be held on November, 2016, within the ENES 2016 Forum in Moscow at the following address: Il'yinka street, 4.

It is also worthwhile to note, that because of the competition's success last year it was granted international status!
The presentation of awards for the best works of students and postgraduates who had participated in the competition was held on November 21, 2015, within the Youth day of the ENES.
The competition was organized with the participation of the Center for energy efficiency and conservation of the University of Mechanical Engineering, and in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation under the UNDP-GEF Project "Building energy efficiency in the North-West of Russia.”
First place for the nomination "The best engineering solution for energy efficiency and energy saving in buildings, structures and constructions” was awarded to Kraskovskiy Il'ya, representing the Yaroslavl' State Technical University, with his work "Energy saving lighting system of building."  First place for the nomination "The best organizational and information activities on energy savings and energy efficiency" went to Batueva Daria from the University of Mines, with her work "The system of student management of the University of Mines Energy of action".
