041115 wsfISEDC Executive Director Mr. Yury Posysaev took part in the opening ceremony of the World Science Forum held in Hungarian Academy of Sciences on  November 4, 2015 in Budapest, Hungary.

On 4th of November, at the Opening Ceremony of World Science Forum 2015 a panel of global thought-leaders declared renewed intent to fight poverty and promote just, equitable and inclusive social development based on the restoration, protection and sustainable use of natural resources and ecosystems.

The participants of the Forum were welcomed with opening address by Mr. Viktor Orban, Prime Minister of Hungary; Mr. László Lovász, President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and President of World Science Forum; Mrs. Flavia Schlegel, Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences, UNESCO; Mr. Tibor Navracsics, EU Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport; Mr. Gordon McBean, President, ICSU and Mr. Rush D. Holt, CEO, AAAS. Furthermore, Mrs. Schlegel read a welcome address by Mr. Ban Ki-moon, UN Secretary-General, to the participants of the Forum.
The World Science Forum welcomed more than 900 participants from over 100 countries. As part of agenda, 6 plenary discussions and 9 thematic sessions will be held in the framework of World Science Forum.
At the invitation of UNESCO and the organizers of the VII World Science Forum, Hungarian Academy of Sciences, ISEDC Executive Director Mr. Yury Posysaev takes part in WSF. On November 6, Mr. Posysaev will participate as a speaker at the Thematic Session “Renewable Energy for Global Sustainability”. The Session will be moderated by Dr. Osman Benchikh, Chief of Section, Innovation and Capacity Building in Science and Engineering, Natural Sciences Sector, UNESCO.
