posysaev 051113On November 5, 2013 the Executive Director of International Sustainable Energy Development Centre under the auspices of UNESCO Mr. Yury Posysaev presented a Ыгььфкн Report on the ISEDC’s activities for 2012-2013 at the 37th session of the UNESCO General Conference in Paris.  

On November 5, 2013 at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, on the first day of the 37th session of the General Conference, a Summary Report on the ISEDC’s main activities for 2012-2013 and information on the most important implemented projects and programmes was brought to the attention of the official delegates of UNESCO Member States during the ISEDC presentation.

ISEDC is the only acting category 2 Centre under the auspices of UNESCO that since 2010 has been provided with a unique opportunity to declare about itself and its further prospects at the main UNESCO events - Executive Council (185th session, October 2010) and the General Conference (36th session, October 2011 and 37th session, November 2013).
Mme Gretchen Kalonji, a member of ISEDC’s Governing Board, the Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences (ADG/SC) greeted with a welcome speech participants of ISEDC’s presentation, among which there were Mrs. Lalla Aïcha Ben Barka of Mali, Assistant Director-General, African Department, Dr. Osman Benchikh, Head of the UNESCO Renewable Energy Programme, Mr. Dendev Badarch, UNESCO Representative to the Russian Federation, Director of the UNESCO Moscow Office, Mr. Ali Zaid, Chief of UNESCO Fellowships Section, and also ambassadors of some UNESCO Member States.   
Mme Kalonji in her speech commended the ISEDC’ activity in promoting humanitarian aspects of sustainable energy development and also highlighted the significant contribution made by the Centre for the implementation and further promotion of the UNESCO/ISEDC Co-sponsored Fellowships Programme for specialists from developing countries and countries in transition.
Mme Kalonji also expressed hope for further strengthening the Centre’s activity in the key areas, as well as she thanked ISEDC for strong contribution to the development of sustainable energy and promotion of UNESCO's initiatives in Russia.
Mr. Yury Posysaev, ISEDC Executive Director, presented a detailed Report for the years 2012-2013 to the delegates of the 37th session of the UNESCO General Conference on major activity directions: scientific and analytical activities, research on international aspects of sustainable energy development for governmental agencies and international organizations, development and issuance of analytical publications on topical problems of global energy development, educational activity.
In the framework of the above-mentioned event, there also were held meetings between Yury Posysaev, Dr. Osman Benchikh, Head of the UNESCO Renewable Energy Programme and Mr. Ali Zaid, Chief of UNESCO Fellowships Section.
Mr. Posysaev noticed successful implementation of the 7th session of the UNESCO/ISEDC Co-sponsored Fellowships Programme for specialists from developing countries and countries in transition, which has been operated since 2008 on the basis of the Russian institutions and organizations.    
The seventh session of the UNESCO/ISEDC Co-sponsored fellowships Programme 2013 was conducted from 1st to 25th October 2013. The course of the Fellowships Programme was devoted to efficient use of energy resources. In the framework of curriculum of the 7th session subject-oriented disciplines were reviewed, such as innovative directions of energy development, energy resources management, international cooperation in the field of energy and sustainable development, economy of resources and energy.
Mr. Zaid, in his turn, expressed appreciation to the Centre for effective and fruitful cooperation within the framework of the joint educational programme. He informed that upon results of the 7th session of the programme, which was held in Moscow, on behalf of the UNESCO Fellowships Section an official letter of appreciation will be prepared and be sent to ISEDC. In addition, the parties discussed signing in the end of 2013 a new TOR (Terms of Reference) between UNESCO and ISEDC for the next biennium 2014-2015.
ISEDC prepared informational materials on its major activities to disseminate among members of the official delegations of UNESCO Member States.
A Progress Report upon the results of the Centre's participation at the 37th session of the UNESCO General Conference will be forwarded to the members of ISEDC’s Governing Board in the near future.
