There is a perception that global warming has many advantages. This statement became the main topic of discussion in a live radio station "Voice of Russia". The discussion was attended by the representative of the International Sustainable Energy Development Centre under the auspices of UNESCO (ISEDC) Vladimir Berdine.

Scientists of the Carnegie Institution and Stanford University, argued that statements about the dangers of global warming are wrong and are without any foundation.

Moreover, according to British scientists, it has several advantages. In particular, global warming will lead to the fact that near the coast of Europian countries  will be more fish, which is suitable for commercial fishing. Also, crop yields will increase and it will be able to cultivate new vegetables and fruits, which had grown only in warmer climates.

The fact is that the benefits, which are expected, will appear through a very large number of years. And the adverse effects, which exist now, are nowadays problems, - expressed a disagreement the representative of ISEDC in response to the approval of the British scientists. - Global climate change impacts on a range of aspects related to the life and human activities. And to speak only about the food problem would probably be wrong," - said Vladimir Berdin.    - First, the processes of warming, which are now observed, and which had never almost been observed in the entire period of observations for climate, connected, first of all, with the fact that the global climate system loses its stability, balance. Especially dangerous natural phenomens are becoming more frequent, and the frequency and intensity are confirmed by the data of observations not only in Russia, but all over the world.
Mr. Berdin stressed that at the moment, in order to combat global warming, we need to focus the attention on the fight against the emission of greenhouse gases, lead policies to improve energy efficiency and to introduce renewable sources of energy. That is why it is  necessary to make a lot of efforts at the international and national level.
