vodm unescoDuring three next days the participants will discuss the topical issues concerning protection of children’s rights and interests all over the world.

The main objective of the Conference is to develop policies in the field of early childhood care and education, including disadvantaged children.

At the meeting state leaders and deputies, experts, education ministers and representatives of civil society will estimate the pace of achieving the first goal of the global programme “Education for all”. Among the VIP guests of the Conference were Irina Bokova, UNESCO Director-General; Danny Faure, Vice-President of the Seychelles; Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady of Azerbaijan; Koïchiro Matsuura, Former UNESCO Director-General.

The participants of the meeting hope that this event would become a key one of the year 2010 which UNESCO declared to be International Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures.
