cub isedcOn June 11, 2010 the Grand Palais Exhibition Hall in Paris was a venue for a round table discussion called "Cooperation in Energy" prepared within the scope of the Russian National Exhibition which is held as a part of the "cross" Years of Russia and France and was opened by Russian Prime-Minister Vladimir Putin.

The round table was organized by Russian Ministry of Energy, Russian Energy Agency and International Sustainable Energy Development Centre. 

Topical issues were brought up at the discussion: global energy security, cooperation in energy conservation, enhancement of power efficiency, collaborative implementation of a number of mutual projects in gas sector: "South Stream", "North Stream", Shtokman. Besides, joint projects in electric-power industry and heat power engineering were discussed alongside with latest techniques for hydrocarbon production, processing and transportation. 

Welcoming speeches were given by Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Anatoly Borisovich Yanovsky and Executive Director for Energy and Climate of the Ministry of Ecology, Energy, Sustainable Development and the Sea of France Pierre-Franck Chevet. Representatives form Russian and French ministries and agencies, industrial and energy companies, research institutions, non-governmental organizations participated in the discussion, including but not limited to Gazprom, Zarubezhneft, RusHydro, INTER RAO UES, Neftegazexport – TALES Consortium, National Scientific Centre for Mining Practice (A.A. Skochinsky Mining Engineering Institute), GDF SUEZ, EDF, Total, ADEME, Dalkoa, l’Agence International de l’énergie.
