students 3 2From April 5 to May 21, 2010 the third phase of UNESCO and ISEDC educational program in the sphere of renewable energy and sustainable energy development took place in Moscow. 

The retraining program was targeted at specialists from developing countries and countries in transition who have a professional command of the Russian language and significant experience in the sphere of energy and management, as well as at lecturers at energy higher educational institutions. 

The third phase of this educational program was organized under the aegis of Moscow Power Engineering Institute (Technical University) where an 80-hour course was delivered to the participants. The course comprised the following topics: "Energy and Sustainable Development", "Renewable Energy", "Ecological Management of Energy Recourses", "Sustainable Generation at Power Stations: Prospects of Development of Main Electrical Equipment in Power Industry".In the course of classes and practical trainings the students got acquainted with the high-voltage engineering and electrophysics department, including high-voltage testing laboratory, the energy system protective relaying and automation department, the interconnected power systems department and some others.

After the educational program was completed the participants received state-recognized MPEI certificates of short-term professional development courses and certificates confirming participation in UNESCO and ISEDC educational program.
