World Education Forum adopts Declaration on the Future of Education
Incheon, Republic of Korea, 21 May: A transformative vision for education over the next 15 years has been adopted at the World Education Forum, which concluded today in Incheon, Republic of Korea.
The Incheon Declaration was welcomed by the global education community, including government ministers from more than 100 countries, non-governmental organizations and youth groups.

Incheon, Republic of Korea, 19 May - The global education agenda for the next 15 years is discussed at the World Education Forum 2015 (WEF 2015), which opened in Incheon, Republic of Korea, on 19 May. The conference sets out a global roadmap for Education until 2030.
The Declaration on Education 2030 to be agreed at the Forum will mobilize all countries and partners to implement the new agenda, and propose ways for its coordination, financing and monitoring – globally, regionally and nationally – to ensure equal educational opportunities for all.
Progress on sustainable energy improving, but 'world must move faster' – UN backed-report

UN official stresses link between healthy soils, sustainable development as Global Soil Week starts
As Global Soil Week began in Berlin today, a United Nations agricultural agency official used his opening address to stress the significance of healthy soils to global food production and the importance of prioritizing soil health in public policy.
“If humanity’s overarching need for food security and nutrition, climate change mitigation and sustainable development is to be met, soil resources have to be given the global attention they deserve,” said Moujahed Achouri, Director of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Land and Water Division.

Public, private sectors essential for progress on climate change, says UN chief
United Nations Secretary-General, in his remarks to the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) meeting on climate change in Washington D.C., said that collaboration and bold leadership from both the private and public sectors is needed to progress on climate change at this “enormous opportunity to chart a new path.”
“This year's annual Spring meetings come at a critical moment. 2015 is our year to set the world on course to a more sustainable future for generations to come,” Ban Ki-moon said as he commended the leadership of both World Bank and IMF for organizing the conference.
Education for All 2000-2015: Only a third of countries reached global education goals
Just one third of countries have achieved all of the measurable Education for All (EFA) goals set in 2000.
Only half of all countries have achieved the most watched goal of universal primary enrolment. An extra $22 billion a year is needed on top of already ambitious government contributions in order to ensure we achieve the new education targets now being set for the year 2030.
