students_4_1From October 15 to November 22, 2010 ISEDC carried out the 4th session of the UNESCO/ISEDC Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme for experts from the countries with a developing and transitional economy.

ISEDC carries out this program since 2008 together with UNESCO on the basis of leading Russian higher education institutions and the organizations.

The main emphasis is placed on relevance of questions of renewable energy, cooperation development in the field of sustainable power development and strengthening of the international personnel potential in the energy field.

During training listeners examined new development and researches in various areas of use of renewables.
Such as:

  • use of solar energy (Mechanical Engineering NGO Military Industrial Complex)
  • research in the field of biofuel (Russian Chemical and Technological University (RCTU))
  • use of low-potential energy (heat) of Earth (Innovative group of companies "INSOLAR")
  • use of wind power, the sun ("Sapsan-Energiya")
  • researches in the field of new power technologies, including problems of use of renewables (the GNU "The All-Russian research institute of electrification of agriculture" (VIESH)).

Within a practical training participants of the program visited the Zagorsk and Uglichsky pumped storage power plant, Kuryanovsky treatment facilities, the combined heat and power plant working at biofuel and took part in the seventh Scientific youth School of RES laboratory of geographical faculty of the Moscow State University.

During realization of an educational program experts of ISEDC shared the experience in the field of energy efficiency, the climate change, sustainable energy development and interaction with the international organizations.

The participants from Mongolia, Belarus, Vietnam, Thailand, Burkina Faso, Gambia, the Sultanate of Oman, Peru and Uzbekistan prepared and presented reports on the subject "Role of RES in an Energy of my country". In the works they carried out the detailed analysis of the current situation in the country, provided statistical data of resources of renewables available for today.

Discussion of questions of prospects of further use of RES in the countries of participants became the most interesting. Such exchange of knowledge and information was mutually useful both to participants, and to young generation of experts of ISEDC.

In summary, the head of department of strategic planning and partnership of ISEDC Vladimir Berdin handed over Certificates on the termination of UNESCO/ISEDC Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme and hoped for further cooperation in the field of uchtoychivy power development. Participants, in turn, thanked the management and scientific experts of ISEDC for the organization of the most interesting educational and cultural programs.
